We are looking for a new Musical Director to start with us in January 2020.
We have around 35 singers (SATB). We rehearse on Saturdays from 2pm-4.30pm with a full-day rehearsal each term at Chester-le-Street Methodist Church.
The Musical Director and Accompanist are members of the choir committee (other members are elected annually). The Musical Director proposes the termly programme, discusses and confirms it with the full committee.S/he may propose the purchase of music: this is discussed and a purchasing decision made by the committee. (Typically we buy a couple of new pieces per term). The librarian is responsible for purchasing (or sourcing loans of) music and for managing the library collection.

- In our autumn term (September-December) we usually meet fortnightly and give two Christmas concerts.
- In our spring/summer term (January-July) we usually meet every 2nd or 3rd week and give four concerts
