From Marilyn - Picking up old tasks

Thought I’d let you know what I’ve been up to during lockdown. This is a cross-stitch obviously of the Last Supper.
I started it in 2001 I think and it was intended to be a present for my mother-in-law. Unfortunately I hadn’t completed it in 2004 when she sadly passed away. Over the next few years I picked it up now and again so that at the start of lockdown the right half had been completed and left for years. Rather like Ian and his model car, I decided that this was the project for lockdown. The first photo shows from the pattern book the finished article.I think you can see the centre of from the fold.  I had completed from the centre to the right on picking it up again. I have worked at it regularly and have reached the stage of starting the 5th panel, out of 6. I think I will need to be in lockdown until at least Christmas to stand a chance of finishing it!!!

You are a bus driver. At the first stop of the day, eight people get on board. At the second stop, four get off, and eleven get on. At the third stop, two get off, and six get on. At the fourth stop, thirteen get off, and one gets on. At the fifth stop, five get off, and three get on. At the sixth stop, three get off, and two get on. What colour are the bus driver's eyes?

Concerts planned: Birtley (October), St Nicholas's Durham (December) - with the hope that Santa Claus would make a reappearance.
Uniforms: suggestion for ladies' of long navy wrap-over skirt and white blouse.
Folders: still under discussion.
Resignations: Mr and Mrs R Kasher sent a letter of resignation and the proposal was made that they be made honorary member as a tribute to their valued contribution.

From the Archives - Norway ... no way :(

  • May '84: a choir trip to Norway was being discussed for August '85. I'm sure founder-members of the choir will be to add more detail to this.
  • December '84: Thomas Cook gave a price for travel to Norway as confirmed as £90 per person. That sounds like a bargain!
  • April '85: the Norway trip had to be cancelled because a large proportion of the choir couldn't arrange to go. That must have been very disappointing.
